Hello guys! This entry will be the last entry for this blog. WHY? It’s because, for this semester, here is the end of learning BEL 260.Honestly, I feel so sad to leave this blog and the class. I’ll miss everything! In this entry, as the title above, I want to write about the FAREWELL for BEL 260 and want to comment about the Miss Zu’s teaching skills.

To Miss Zu and to all friends, I want to seek forgiveness for everything I have done in the class that you all don’t like. Maybe has anything I had done without my conscious or not. About Miss Zu, honestly you’re an amazing lecturer I have met. Your teaching skill is so different compare to others. You had made a lot of games that I never think to do it to make students like us understand what we have learnt. Even though, sometimes you’re not in a good mood, but you still cover and don’t want to destroy our mood. I know everyone have feelings,so it’s okay for me when you’re not in a good mood. I love your way of teaching. I hope I can meet you again or maybe you can be my lecturer for the next BEL’s class. I will miss you MISS ZU. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR EVERYTHING. May Allah bless you. Please pray well for us for the final exam. Hope we can get a good result. In shaa Allah. Till we meet again Miss Zu! I hope I can do better for it, I really afraid. :(

To my coming junior or senior, if you get Miss Zu as your lecturer, get your heart with you in the class. You won't regret it! trust me. You'll regret if you're not focus in the class. This is the best class ever for English class! Enjoy it! :)

LAST class! :(

Friday, 22^nd March 2013.

Today’s the last day of the class! I can feel the mood of the class. It feel cloudy, because we can’t be together again with Miss Zu with all her fun activities. Even though, I feel like want to cry, but I hide it deep in my heart. For today lesson, we had discussed about the past sem question (October 2012). Miss Zu gave us the answer and told us what we have to do for every question in the paper. I hope we can answer it properly in the real exam. Before the class ended, Miss Zu had made a little farewell party. She brought the drinks, biscuits and so on. Alhamdulillah it’s our fortune to get food for breakfast. Honestly, I feel so touched when she do the farewell party. I feel like I want to cry out loud! I’ll miss all the moment with her in the class. After we ate, we made the photography session with her. It’s for memory that we have with her. Hope we can see again and learn together again, maybe for the semester 3, in shaa Allah. I hope so. :’)

Second LAST class!

Hello, meet again!
Okay, for today’s class. We have continued our lessons as the previous class. We learnt more about how to interpreting author’s purpose and the writer’s tone. For example :-

- Neutral

- Cynical

- Optimistic

- Serious
and many more

After we have looked for the Miss Zu’s slide show, we were divided into 6 groups which each group is consisting of 4 members. My groups are:-

- Syahirah (RA)

- Faseha (SEHA)

- Farahin (FAA)

- Shahindah (SHINDAH,me)

For the first part, we have been given a piece of paper for each person, and we had discussed the purpose of the writer and the writer’s tone for what we have read in the text book. First trial, Miss Zu taught us how to make it, it’s to make sure that all of us understand and know what we had to do. Then, we had discussed among our group members to do the same. We had watched a short movie, which is from the petronas advertisement for Hari Raya and for Chinese New Year. It’s made from Allahyarham Yasmin Ahmad. I feel so touched when watched it. Ok stop about it! Don’t make me cry here..haha.. You can watch it in you-tube maybe.

For the second part, it just the same which is, we have to find the author’s purpose,biased or not, writer’s tone,word/phrase used to show tone and achieve intention. Miss Zu had given us a newspaper, then we had to choose any of the article then we have to understand the article then have to make the purpose of the article. After we had made it, we have to submit it.

Hye guys! For your information, this week is the last week for the learning session. It so sad! The time flows faster. The semester 2 will be end. Nevertheless, we still have time to be together in a class. So today’s class, Miss Zu have taught us about author’s purpose for answer the question in FINAL EXAMINATION paper. We have four main of the author’s that we have learnt :-

- To persuade

- To inform

- To entertain

- (*I forgot,I’m so sorry,I’ll checked it again)

After we learnt it, Miss Zu had given back the previous listening test and the paper for the mid-term test. I’m so disappointed for my mid-term test. I’m only got half of the full mark. The full mark is 20 but I only get 10.5! what Shindah!? It’s so bad. For the listening test, I’m feel little happy because, Alhamdulillah, I’ve got 12 marks over 15 marks. It’s isn’t bad yeah? Hahaha.. Not my purpose to show off, it just, I also shocked for what I’ve got! Haha.. Alhamdulillah. But, I still really not feel happy with my mid-term marks. I hope I can get better for the final exam so that I can cover the carry marks. We had discussed the answer together. It’s to show us, where is the mistake that we have made.

Time for grammar! [7]

Hallu! It’s FRIDAY! So… It’s GRAMMAR time! Yeah! Long time I’m not post about grammar, right? Today’s we learnt about SIMPLE FUTURE TENSE and FUTURE CONTINUOS TENSE which have been presents from Syahirah’s group. (Raa, Faa and Seha) J We had interesting game after the presentation, we have to make two groups which consist of 11 persons. The game was been play like a musical chair, but this game we have to stand up. The rule is, the chosen person will go around the circle and stop if the stop have been stop. The person will get a notepad then have to answer based on what we have learnt. That’s a simple game but it was really interesting! Thanks guys.

Besides that, we had one more presentation which is from Adli’s group (Adli and Haziq Amir) . They had presents about PRESENT CONTINUOS TENSE and PAST CONTINUOS TENSE. This group had not any games because there are no times to make it. But, it’s okay because the important thing is we understand what had been present by them and Miss Zu.

Argumentative essay!

Hello! Are you weird, for the first time I'm having a post for Wednesday? Hahaha.. Not only that, today's a night class session! Don’t be too weird.. It’s just the replacement class for the last Friday class which is had been cancelled. Still remember? It’s okay. It’s time to study!

In this night class, Miss told us how to make an argumentative essay. It’s just the same as the essay before. But, this argumentative essay we have to stand on our choice whether we AGREE or DISAGREE.

The format is just the same, the introduction must have the HOOK, the transition signal, and the thesis statement. On that thesis statement we have to say whether we agree or not. For example:-

I absolutely agree……………. (for AGREE)
I totally disagree……………..(for DISAGREE)

After we had learnt how to make a thesis statement, Miss Zu gave us an individual task which is, every one of us has to make an essay. Because of Miss Zu really an understanding person, she knows that us have a lot of test and quizzes this week so she let us to send the essay on next Monday. So we still have time to make it! Hope we can make a good essay.

Hello guys! How are you? Hope you all in a good condition. For today’s class, we had presented about the essay that we had done last week (on Tuesday). I’m felt very scared to show my works to Miss Zu. I know I have made a lot of mistakes on that introduction paragraph. But, my best friends told me that, “It’s okay, this is the time to us to study”.. As people said “mistakes is the best teacher”.
Let me explain again how to make a good essay:-

INTRODUCTION:-

1) the hook

2) transition

3) thesis statement

BODY PARAGRAPH:-

1) main point- controlling ideas

2) supporting details (at least 3)

3) example (at least 1)

4) conclusion (restate back the controlling idea)

CONCLUSION:-

1) restate the thesis statement (factors-causes/reasons) – must have the transition signal

2) recommendation/suggestion

Today’s class we have watched a video of Drug abuse. We have to make an essay based on what had we watched. Miss Zu had separate us into a few groups and my group members are :-

Every person has to choose which paragraph we want to do. After we made a discussion, decide that I’m doing the introduction paragraph, Aizureen make the 1^st Paragraph, Nadhirah make the 2^nd paragraph, Aiman do the 3^rd paragraph and last but not least, Asmidah do the conclusion. I hope we can make it! J

Inference and Prediction

Monday, 4^th March 2013.

Yeah! I’m feeling very happy for today’s class! J It’s not that I’m not happy on the other class, it just, I’m happy! Haha.. I can’t say it with words. English class become more interesting!
Do you want to know what I had done in class today? As usual we do something out of the box to do in the class, to take our attention and make us more understand, Miss Zu had open the video clip of Bruno Mars which is the Grenade song and a short movie (Still life). I'm sorry, I want to share it with you but the coverage is slow, if you want to watch it, you can find it on YouTube. okay? :) After watching the video clip, we had to make an inference and prediction. My group members are :-

Inference is what we can conclude for what we had been watched or read.

Prediction is we have to predict what will be happen. It maybe by our own experience or we know by watch from others.

REAL listening test!

Hye! Grateful to see you again!
Let me tell you what had happened in this class today. We had made the REAL listening test. Finally yeah! The day finally comes! I feel really nervous before I’m entered the class but I want or not, I have to take the exam too! So, I just pretend to be strong. Must focus and listen carefully what is the audio is talking about. I think, this real exam is harder than the practice that we had before. In shaa Allah I had done the best as I can. Hope the result will be okay too. Then, after the 45 minutes had passed away, Miss Zu asked us to be with our speaking group. The lucky group have been picked today is Aizureen’s group :-

We learnt on how we should interrupt politely to someone’s point and how to speak in task A which is an individual task. We will be given 2 minutes to stands our points. Miss Zu also told us how the marks is been given.

Hye guys! For today’s class we have made the practice for listening and speaking test. For the first 45 minutes, we made the practice for listening test. Thanks to Miss Zu because I think I really need the practice so that I can prepare myself for the last minutes for the real exam. After the listening trial have finished, Miss Zu asked us to be with our own groups to practice for the listening test. Miss Zu had chosen the lucky group to practice the speaking test which is Aiman’s group.

Practice for SPEAKING test! :)

Hello guys! How was your day? J You know right what day is today. J Today is FRIDAY! So, you should know what we will learn for this entry after about 3 months you with me.hahah.. J But, “unfortunately” we will be learn about something else. Feel sad hah? :p don’t lie to me! Haha… For today’s class Miss Zu had taught us about speaking test. She had taught us about the word for us to say if we don’t agree with others point. For example “ I can understand your concern, but…”, “That very interesting, but…” and so on. Miss Zu also had shown to us how the examiners calculate our marks. How we get higher or lower marks. It is based on how we talk and our point. It is really important to have a good point and we have to talk about 2 minutes. On speaking test, we have 2 parts :-

· Part A – all candidates just have to talk about their own point based on the question that had been given about 2 minutes.

· Part B – the points have given, but each candidate has to elaborate it and give some example to get more marks. 2 minutes to think about the point we have to said, then 2 minutes talk about it. In this part, this is called GROUP DISCUSSION. So we have to talk to other candidate weather we agree or disagree about their points or we want to add more points.

When hear, feel like easy, but when to do it, it really hard. I feel very nervous! This Wednesday is the test! Hope everything will be okay. My group members are with Fatin Najihah and Asmidah. We are group number 8 , which is the last group. Pray for us! J

Practice for LISTENING TEST! :)

Hello! Meet again! After 1 week I had a nice holiday for the Chinese New Year breaks, the class start again. How was your holiday? Tell me..
Okay, after we had a long holiday, so enough of that.. We have to focus back on our study.. The Final Examination is just around the corner. For today’s class we had done about listening test.

It is not the real test but it is for PRACTICE. Even it is just only for practice but I feel it is a real test. When I listen to the audio, I feel like “Ya Allah, what she/ he talking about? I can’t really hear it and I’m not really understand what they are talking about..” I really need to focus to the voice. Alhamdulillah I can answered it but there were also a question I can’t answered. I’m really disappointed with my marks. I really need more practice to get better next time so that I can get a good result for the real test and I need to clear up my ears before the test! haha. In sha Allah. Pray the good for me and to all my friends.

Non-linear text INDIVIDUAL! ^.^

Tuesday, 5^th February 2013.

Hello! Meet again! J Today in class we had been given back our pre-test paper for yesterday and my group had got 7.65 marks over 10. Then, we had made MORE practice about non-linear text but this is INDIVIDUAL work not group work anymore. We were been given 40 minutes to answer it. It is for us know and can manage the time correctly in the real test which is will be held on this FRIDAY! That is why Miss Zu gave us more exercise to make sure we can answer it when the real test come. People said that PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT right? So this is what Miss Zu wants us to do. J
Hope we can answer it correctly this Friday. Amen. Please pray the good for us! To all my classmates good luck on our BEL 260’s test! J Hope we can make it.

Monday, 4^th February 2013.

Hello hello hello! J As Miss Zu had said in the previous class that she wanted to make a pre-test to make sure we are ready for the real test, so this is the day! :D We were divided into 5 groups which consist of 5 members and I was grouped with Fatin Izzati, Najwa Adlina, Haziq Fidaiy and Haziq Amir. We were asked to answer the non-linear text. One person one paragraphs. I’m the 3^rd writer. 3 minutes will be given to the first writer (introduction) and the last writer (proposal+prediction) and the other group members were given about 6 minutes each. After times up, we had to passes up the paper for Miss Zu checked it. After the pre-test, Hasyimah and Atiqah continue their grammar presentation. It is for the game. They made a game called “musical chair”! J I’m very happy to played the game even I’m the second person go out from the game..haha.. It’s great to be learnt while playing. J Till then. Bye! J

Presentation about non-linear text! ^.~

Hello guys! It’s been awhile I did not post anything right? J Missed me or not? Heheh.. On Monday we did not have class due to Thaipusam. J So today’s class we had made more exercise about non-linear text. Before the Thaipusam’s holiday, Miss Zu had gave us group work about non-linear text. So today was the day to us to present what we had discussed between our group members about the non-linear text. There are a lot of mistakes that we had made. Miss Zu gave us another chance to redo our works. Thanks to Miss Zu and the other friends because had showed me the correct way how to make the non-linear text.

Movie time! :D

Tuesday, 22^nd January 2013.

Morning! J Everyone had to wake up early today! Haha.. :D Because of I slept late yesterday, I feel very sleepy in this morning class. Hoho.. Thankfully Miss Zu has her own idea to make any activity for every class to make sure we get anything we learnt on class. J

Today, Miss Zu showed us a movie. That movie is TAKEN. J Have you watched this movie? If not, go search and watch it. Haha.. This movie is really great!! This movie is about women trafficking.

It’s not for filled our leisure time! Haha. We had a task which is, from this movie we have to make an introductory paragraph about the main idea of this movie. So this is my introductory paragraph:- J

“I hope time will rotate back. I should listen to my parent advice.” These are the words spoken by a victim of human trafficking. She cried as she slowly walked to her bedroom, she hugs strongly her pillow. She had been travelling by her own self with her friends which is still under age and still not suitable to travel by their own self especially for a girl. She had been kidnapped and had been given a drug so that she will unconscious then she will be selling to those who wants to buy her. She regrets that, she had to listen to her father advice before. She must not go travelling alone without parental guidance until she feel save to travel alone. There are many ways to protect ourselves to not become one of the victim of human trafficking such as must be aware of how traffickers recruit people, do not get influence easily with the person we just know and must listen to elder's advice.

Non-Linear Text and Time for grammar![5]

Today’s class we had learnt back about non-linear text AGAIN! Haha… Miss Zu knows well her students. Hehe.. All of us still not really understand how to make the non-linear text to make the linear text. It really made us confused. We not really good to make the sentences to change from a table/chart into a text. After Miss Zu taught us again, Alhamdulillah we more understand how to make it! J

Hallu guys! We meet again! J Today’s class was started at 8 a.m. I feel so sleepy in class. Thankfully Miss Zu had made a wonderful activity and it’s made me feel more energize. The activity is called “SO YOU THINK YOU CAN ACT AND SING” it’s not So You Think You Can Dance okay. Haha! J
This activity can improve our speaking skills and work as a team work. Miss Zu had gave us an article which we choose on her “magic box” hehe.. and we had to act and sing based on the article that we had. My group members were :-

This activity was awesome because I can watch my class members act and sing at the same time. Some of them were really talented to do it.
