Movie time! :D

Morning! J Everyone had to wake up early today! Haha.. :D  Because of I slept late yesterday, I feel very sleepy in this morning class. Hoho..  Thankfully Miss Zu has her own idea to make any activity for every class to make sure we get anything we learnt on class. J

Today, Miss Zu showed us a movie. That movie is TAKEN. J Have you watched this movie? If not, go search and watch it. Haha.. This movie is really great!! This movie is about women trafficking.

It’s not for filled our leisure time! Haha. We had a task which is, from this movie we have to make an introductory paragraph about the main idea of this movie. So this is my introductory paragraph:- J

“I hope time will rotate back. I should listen to my parent advice.” These are the words spoken by a victim of human trafficking. She cried as she slowly walked to her bedroom, she hugs strongly her pillow. She had been travelling by her own self with her friends which is still under age and still not suitable to travel by their own self especially for a girl. She had been kidnapped and had been given a drug so that she will unconscious then she will be selling to those who wants to buy her. She regrets that, she had to listen to her father advice before. She must not go travelling alone without parental guidance until she feel save to travel alone. There are many ways to protect ourselves to not become one of the victim of human trafficking such as must be aware of how traffickers recruit people, do not get influence easily with the person we just know and must listen to elder's advice. 

*i wish i can watch TAKEN 2 too.. :)

Non-Linear Text and Time for grammar![5]

Monday, 21^st January 2013.

4.00 – 6.00 p.m

Today’s class we had learnt back about non-linear text AGAIN! Haha… Miss Zu knows well her students. Hehe..  All of us still not really understand how to make the non-linear text to make the linear text.  It really made us confused. We not really good to make the sentences to change from  a table/chart into a text. After Miss Zu taught us again, Alhamdulillah we more understand how to make it! J

Still remember what I said for the formula to make it? Forgot? Hmm, it’s ok.. J Learn from mistake okay.. Let’s learn back the formula. Please go to this link to learn about it back.

Non-linear to linear text! :)

Then, we had been given a task to make the exercise to change the non-linear text into linear text. We had been divided into several groups. My group members are:

We have to presents it after the holiday . Hope we all can make it better! J

Act and Sing! ;)

Hallu guys! We meet again! J Today’s class was started at 8 a.m. I feel so sleepy in class. Thankfully Miss Zu had made a wonderful activity and it’s made me feel more energize. The activity is called “SO YOU THINK YOU CAN ACT AND SING” it’s not So You Think You Can Dance okay. Haha! J
This activity can improve our speaking skills and work as a team work. Miss Zu had gave us an article which we choose on her “magic box” hehe.. and we had to act and sing based on the article that we had. My group members were :-

FACT or OPINION

On this lovely day, we had learnt about how to differentiate FACT and OPINION. Miss Zu had explained about it very influenced to make sure her students can understand about it. Let me share with you what is FACT and what is OPINION. By the way, before that  , do you can know what is different between FACT and OPINION? Yes? No? or  50-50? :D okay then, let me just explain it to all of you so that all of us get the knowledge. J

FACT

– is something that has been stated and has evidence. Fact is something that anyone can’t change it.

OPINION

 – is a feeling, judgement, belief or conclusion that cannot be proven true by objective evidence.

Example:

-->   Alexander the Great was one of the greatest military leaders in world history.

= this is OPINION because have BIASED word. (bold word) --> He was born in Pella, Macedonia.

= this is FACT because there is no BIASED word.

-->  The exact date of his birth was probably July 20 or 26, 356 B.C.

= this is OPINION because have BIASED word.

-->  Shortly before his 33^rd birthday, Alexander the Great died.

= this can be both (OPINION and FACT.

--> The cause of his death remains unknown.

= this is FACT because there is no BIASED word.

To make us more understand about it, Miss Zu had made an activity which she gave us a things then we had to make sentences about a FACT and OPINION. We were divided into 5 groups. We had to be the seller to promote our products to the customer. When we were presents about the products, the other members had to discussed with their own group members about how many OPINION sentences and how many the FACT sentences.

Non-Linear to Linear Text

Hello! J How are you guys today? Hope all in good condition. J
Today’s class I had learnt about Non-Linear to Linear Text Writing.  This is one of the questions that we have to answer in paper BEL260 in the examination.

Tips on How To Do Task :

• spend 5 minutes reading the graphs/charts etc
• make sure you understand axes
• make sure you follow lines on graph
• focus on the key information
• if two graphs - compare
• think about the time period - tenses
• vary your vocabulary
• organize information clearly
• write neatly

NON-LINEAR WRITING’S FORMULA:

TITLE

1)      OV (over view) + CI (controlling idea)

2-3) KFs (Key Features)

4) P(i) proposal + P(ii) prediction

Do you still remember what is the non-linear text? No? It’s okay, don’t cry..hehe.. Let me explain to you. Non-Linear text are something liked graph (bar graph/line graph etc) and table that we have to study for what had been given to make an essay based on it.

For the first time I looked at it, I feel like, “What? Why is it so hard to make? Have to change it to linear text? But how? “. Thankfully Miss Zu had taught us how to make it and Alhamdulillah I have understand it a little bit. I have to make a few exercises to become more masters on it. Hope all my friends and  I can make it! J

D.E.B.A.T.E time! ^.^

Hello guys! Today I had very interesting lesson in class. You want to know why? Let me tell you. But, first of all, don’t get jealous of me okay. Haha.. Today’s class we had made a DEBATE. Do you feel, “Are you kidding me?! Debate in class?! What for?”. Is that question had playing in your mind? :D Yeah! We had made it! :D We were divided into 4 groups which is each group is consists of 6 peoples.  Miss Zu had gave us two topics which were:

1-      Is it considered cheating when your partner (girlfriend/boyfriend/husband/wife) was checking on other beautiful girls/boys/men/women on Facebook (poking, liking, etc )?

2-      Is it true that men are easy to work with and more creative than women especially when it involves group works?

My group members are:

-          Aizureen

-          Nur Shahindah (Me)

   

From the 4 groups, 2 groups will get the topic number 1 and the other 2 groups will get the topic number 2.  We’ve got topic number 2, and we’re the OPPONENT. The other group which get the same topic with us will be the GOVERNMENT. My group have to disagree about the topics and must say that WOMEN are easy to work with and more creative than MEN when it involves group works.
By our discussion, our points are:

Ø  Men always take everything not seriously and take it easy.

Ø  Men are always not punctual than women.

Ø  Men are creative BUT they did not show their creativity on the right place and the right time.

Ø  Women are more systematic and women can organize anything until the work is done.

Ø  Women are fast matured.

Ø  Men likes to argue but they did not like to give opinion.

Ø  Men like to do last minute work.

Today I learnt about, how to improve our confident level to speak in front of others and can work as a team to discuss for what we had got. From this activity it can make us braver to speak even in English. After all groups had make the debate, Miss Zu asked us to make a choice who is the winner for the best debator and the best group. The winner are:-

Best Debator : Aizureen, Haziq Amir and Syahirah

Best Group : every group are the winner! It’s TIED! Haha.. :D

Hello! J Today is the day that I always waiting to came. In class today, we had makes the group presentation. Two groups had been presents today, which is my group (Azreen and I) and Mai’s group (Maizatul and Aisyah).  Maizatul and Aisyah had presents about ADJECTIVES and Azreen and I had presents about ADVERBS.  There are many inputs that I had got from the presentation.

Find main ideas on paragraph! :)

Hello, guys! Okay today I had learnt about distinguishing main ideas and supporting details.  Miss Zu had taught us how to find the main ideas in the paragraph. We had to read carefully the paragraph then we have to find which the supporting details so that we can know what it the main ideas.  If we can detect which is the supporting details or not, it make easier to us find the main idea. BUT there are also paragraph that won’t give us the main ideas straight forward. This is identifying the implied main idea of the paragraph. We had to read and understand what the paragraph is focus on.  Then we have to write our own sentences for the main ideas but it must suitable from the paragraph.

Miss Zu had made activity based on the video clip. She showed us the music video and raya video clip. We had to make 4 groups and discussed among the group members about the main ideas that we got by watching the short video clip. This activity made us to think and understand carefully to find the main ideas that the person want to gives us. 

There were 2 groups become the winner because we had got the same marks.

Hello guys! Long time no see!  This is the first day of English class after the mid-semester break. Today we had an “acting” class.. yeah! We had to act based on any P.Ramlee’s movie.  We were divided into 5 groups. I’m with SYAZ, FARHAH and FARHAH. We act from SENIMAN BUJANG LAPOK's movie.

This class was very fun and exciting! From this activity we can enhance our confident level and can show us the hidden talent. Before we end the class, Miss Zu asked us to choose the best drama, best actor and the best actress. The winner are :-

Today’s class I had learnt about contextual reference and obtaining meanings of words from context.  It’s the part in the examination paper. Miss Zu taught us how to answer and score for it. 



To read rapidly with good comprehension, you need a wide vocabulary. We can often guess intelligently the meaning of a word or phrase which we may not know. Sometimes, we may come across a word which, when used in a different situation, has a different meaning. Using the information from where the word or phrase is found as 'cues',we can make a logical guess of the meaning of the word or phrase.
